Carnation Nation

These murals were painted in 2020 by Bobby Magee Lopez and myself for West 38, a new apartment community in Wheat Ridge, CO. Wheat Ridge used to be the Carnation capital of the world, and this property celebrates the site of the original home of Homer L. Pearson who was a pioneer in the Colorado carnation industry. In addition to carnations, the client asked that hummingbirds be included in the imagery because they love carnation flowers.
