I am an artist, a creative placemaker, and a regenerative gardener. My mission is to cultivate joy and vitality by connecting people to each other and to the land where we live, work, and play. My work and media varies wildly because I love to continuously explore, but I mostly paint murals, build site-specific installations (like sculptures but also including food forests, polyculture veggie gardens, and wildscapes), and create wooden wall sculptures based on patterns that I find in the garden or in the wild. My pieces are usually bright, technologically-aided abstractions that bring to light typically unperceived natural patterns and structures. I seek to create a bridge between nature & technology, science & spirituality, order & chaos. I am fascinated by the botanical treasures of our world & utterly convinced that plants will save us from ourselves if we can re-plug into their magic, but also realize they are just one piece to a balanced ecological puzzle. I create my pieces with a combination of hi-tech tools & by hand. I love bright colors & the boldness of black & white. I enjoy investigating the space between known and unknown dimensions and creating intrigue for multiple senses simultaneously while also putting humans into the perspective of the other voiceless creatures of our planet to understand their plight. I’m obsessed with patterns & repetitions of form, particularly when they are geometrically structured & organically patterned. The results are somewhat abstract & otherworldly, yet also strangely familiar, joyful, and transformative.
