Vicki Myhren Gallery Model

This is a scale model that I made for the Vicki Myhren Gallery at the University of Denver. The curator and gallery staff use it to plan out the art exhibits. All the walls and the floor are painted with a magnetic primer paint. The gallery staff prints the scaled images of their next show onto magnetic paper to easily stick onto the walls and move them around to suit. Also, the gallery has several free-standing, movable walls. In the model, these have rare earth magnets attached to the bottom so that they stick to the magnetic floor and stay in their upright position. The scale of the model is 3/4" = 1' and it turns out this is almost the perfect scale to stage the model with my husband's old toys and action figures as gallery patrons checking out a retrospective of my art.

Courtney & Molly's Wedding

Courtney and Molly had an absolutely beautiful wedding with the theme of "Rainbow Flowers." They asked me to make a laser cut wooden wall sculpture for them as a non-traditional guestbook that went with their theme and that they could hang on their wall. Each wedding guest left a lovely message on one of the flower pedals.

Simone

Daniel had this laser cut wooden wall sculpture made as a gift for his wife, Simone. He wanted a piece that captured Simone's essence and that also subtly incorporated several words that describe what he loves about her. The words are lightly etched into each of the birch plywood layers and painted over - they can be seen by looking closely at some of the detail shots or the digital mock-up. The mountains are a silhouette of Sunlight Peak, the place where Daniel proposed to Simone. Simone is an accomplished yogi and enjoys doing this particular advanced pose in natural settings. The colors match those used in the recent interior remodel of their home.
